Unlocking Karazhan
If you want to uncover the many challenges for this part of World of Warcraft, you’ll need to get attuned to Karazhan. Overall, to complete this task, you’ll need to pass through a questline and obtain “the master’s key.”
First, you’ll need to visit the Archmage Alturus NPC, located in Deadwind Pass. To reach this location, as an Alliance player, you could fly to Duskwood and ride east. Furthermore, if you’re a member of the Horde, you can fly to Swamp of Sorrows and ride west. Once you reach the destination, move to a specific set of coordinates (48,78). Complete two quest from the previous NPC and follow the next step.
You’ll obtain a WoW TBC Item called “Alturus’s Report,” and afterward you’ll need to find Archmage Cedric at the Dalaran Crater. That last NPC will give you another request (speak to Khadgar), at the Shattrath City.
For the next step, you’ll need to gather three key fragments located in WoW TBC Classic instances. Indeed, you’ll find the first key fragment near the end of the Shadow Labyrinth instance, near Murmur. Additionally, the next fragment appears next to Hydromancer Thespia, in a pool of water at The Steamvault instance. Lastly, the third fragment is in an Arcane Container close to Zereketh the Unbound at The Arcatraz.
Now give the “Restored Apprentice’s Key” to Medivh in The Black Morass. Last but not least, go back to Shattrath City, find Khadgar and he’ll give you The Master’s Key.
Karazhan WoW TBC Guide
Raid’s Main Theme
One of the elements in WoW Classic TBC that make this specific place unique, is how it is built. Since you’ll find tons of lore on the walls of Karazhan, there are stories in every room. First of all, the place was the home of the wizard Medivh, one of the main characters from previous games.
Moreover, since the place was theoretically sealed, nothing supposedly could make a difference. Still, though, different demons and evil spirits (lead by Prince Malchezaar) are now inside Karazhan. As a result, you’ll find multiple challenges as you move through the raid.
Some of the unique mechanics that you’ll find in Karazhan from encounters are the Opera House and the Chess Event. First of all, The Opera House will give you one of some of the famous stories from our world with a little WoW twist. For example, you could fight in a “Red Riding Hood” setting, running away from the big bad wolf.
Secondly, as you move through the Raid, you’ll come with the Chess Event. This time around, each player in the group will need to take a place on the board and become a vital piece. Following the Chess rules (a version of them), everyone needs to play as a team and beat the enemy’s pieces. As a result, you’ll find a unique fight where you’ll need to use your brains and improvise accordingly.
