There’s a new mode in Fortnite, and this time it focuses on social interaction rather than the usually battle royale stuff.

Despite its four-year existence, Fortnite has managed to stay fresh as a daisy by consistently tweaking and adding new content to its various game modes. Outsiders and non-Fortnite players can hate on the game all they want, but they can’t deny the amount of creativity that Epic puts into the battle royale. We’ve had a ton of crossovers and collabs in the Fortnite Item Shop recently, but Fortnite always has something new up its sleeve, and this time it’s the Party Worlds mode. This brand-new mode might not be what the gamers were expecting though. Is the Party Worlds mode in Fortnite worth your time? Or would it be better to stick to the usual formula? Let’s find out.

What is Party Worlds Mode?

Fortnite Party Worlds are basically “social parks” where you can play mini-games with your fellow mates. They’re essentially designed to focus on the social aspect rather than combat. According to Epic Games, Party Worlds are experiences that are designed as places for players to just chill and hang out. Of course, they can also make new friends there or show off their latest haul from the Fortnite Item Shop. This is a never-before-seen experience that allows players to take a break from their battle royale rut by decompressing and enjoying the game in new ways that they never thought they could. The best way to sum up what Party Worlds is that it’s an improved version of the Creative Hub.

Encouraging Players to Create “Worlds”

Epic has collaborated with community members TreyJTH and fivewalnut to create an example of what Party Worlds is capable of. There’s the amusement park called Walnut World which is obviously created by fivewalnut. For those that prefer a nightclub vibe, they can head on over to TreyJTH’s creation called the “Late Night Lounge”. Epic has stated that they’re now taking submissions for community-made spaces. If you’re interested in creating your own “World”, all you have to do is submit a form to Epic Games and see if they’ll approve it. If you’re not the creative type though, that’s not a bad thing. You can still enjoy Party Worlds by visiting the creations of other players by entering specific map codes.

Maintaining An Etiquette in Party Worlds

Engaging in this all-new experience of meeting new people and chillaxing in Fortnite’s Party Worlds mode is relatively simple. As stated before, you can simply join these islands and express yourself with the use of emotes, outfits, sprays, and many more possible ways. The important thing about Party Worlds is that everything is about meeting players from around the world and just vibing with them. Don’t have that many emotes in your inventory to express yourself? You could try out the mini-games with the other players on the island!

Branching Out

Party Worlds is Epic Games’ attempt to transform Fortnite from a competitive battle royale game into a broader online space where everyone can just have fun. We’ve already seen a fair number of numerous features and experiments that Epic Games has tried over the years, ranging from one-off events like the in-game concert of Ariana Grande to a combat/kill-free Party Royale mode. Party Worlds isn’t a wholly original concept since users can already create islands to serve as social spaces rather than arenas in the game’s Creative Mode, but this latest initiative appears to be explicitly promoting users to make places that are social-first.

Is It Worth Trying?

Although the concept of Fortnite’s Party Worlds is still in its initial stages and still needs a lot more polishing, there’s no denying that it’s extremely fun. It’s also helpful that you can also find others to play duos, trios, or squad modes with the people that you hang out with in the mode. For those that either just wants to take a break from all the chaos happening in the battle royale, Party Worlds is a great way to just unwind and talk to people.
